Like other reviewers, this was not our first choice cruise vessel but was a brilliant upgrade. Our group of 10 people joined up with the other 6 guests to have a wonderful experience.
Our cabin was a surprise with a huge spa bath looking out onto Halong Bay. The rest of the cabin was of equal standard, ultra modern, wood-panelled, crisp and clean with everything you could possibly need including bathrobes.
Meals on board were superb, with 6 courses per meal.
The overnight trip includes lunch as you board, dinner, breakfast and early lunch before disembarkation.
Activities included a kayak visit to the inside of one island, walk to hilltop viewing of the bay (400 steps), beach visit, tai chi pre breakfast, squid jiggling after dinner, cooking demonstration, putt putt golf on the deck plus karaoke after dinner.
All this for $AUD395 per couple plus our drinks bill where a mixer (like Gin and tonic or johnnies Walker and coke) cost about $AUD10 (172,000VND) and beers cost about $AUD5 (86,000VND). Drinks were pricey by Vietnam standards.
Great trip for a group on a vessel designed for about 32 guests but with only 17 on board for our trip.
Safety was paramount with modern life jackets for every water based activity.
Staff could not have been more helpful and food was delicious.
